My practice orbits around memory, fragility and the construction of narratives. I am a mixed media artist with a focus on free-motion embroidery on calico, using thread as a tactile process of drawing. I also utilise ceramics, laser-cutting, woodwork and casting to explore the edges and relationship between the two and three dimensional, attempting to locate a space in-between to form narratives surrounding the slippery, entangled and breakable qualities of memory. I am intrigued by the playfulness of how things are built, held together, and sometimes fall apart, with words and actions such as weaving, stacking, catching, holding, falling and crumbling influencing my decision making. I often depict singular objects as a means of poetic reflection, mirroring my fascination with the subtly surreal that can emerge from mundanity.
